Not every workout will be your best. This is TOTALLY normal. I didn’t sleep well and my body is still tired from the high volume of muscle-ups I did on Sunday. So today’s workout was far from my best.
Consistency is what matters. I am so glad I have bought into this mindset as it’s an absolute game-changer.
You don’t have to push yourself to the max every time you train. In fact, if you want to train in a way that is sustainable and that lasts a lifetime (I certainly do), opt for training more consistently and listening to your body (and mind) versus crushing yourself every time you set foot in the gym (or wherever you train). Don’t let your ego get in the way.
Rather than fret over how terrible my muscle-ups (and everything I did) felt, I dialled my volume WAY back and focused on refining my skills. I also got to spend some time with a cute and very fluffy dog who made an unexpected appearance during my workout.
