This Row Is A Core KILLER! And Something I Bet You’ve NEVER Tried!

Here is a REALLY challenging and effective core exercise I bet you havenโ€™t tried before!! ๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿคฏ

While I am doing a row here, I consider this an exercise for the core and also shoulder stability.

Coaching Tips:

๐Ÿ‘‰ Kneel on a bench and hold a dumbbell/weight in one hand.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Extend your leg on the opposite side of the body so it is parallel to the bench/floor.

๐Ÿ‘‰ On the other side, your hand should be directly below your shoulder. โ€˜โ€™Suctionโ€™โ€™ this hand to the bench and press through the base of your hand and fingers the entire time.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Your head, torso, and hips should be in a stacked/level position.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Before each rep, take a deep breath in (360 degree breath in), do a 360 degree brace around your spine, close the space in your midsection/think about wrinkling the front of your shirt like you would during a dead bug, and flex your glutes and quads.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Now perform a single arm row. Row up and back towards your hips versus rowing straight up. As you are doing this do a โ€˜โ€™knee tuck.โ€™โ€™

๐Ÿ‘‰ In the top of the row, think about crushing an โ€˜โ€™orangeโ€™โ€™ in your armpit. Do not let your elbow flare out.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Now lower the weight to the starting position with control and return your leg to the starting position. During this movement your shoulder blade should perform the opposite movements as it did during the row, and should move away from your spine, and around your ribcage.

๐Ÿ‘‰ The entire time, aside from the rowing arm and moving leg, your body should remain still. This is WAY easier said than done.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Do 2 to 3 sets of 6 to 12 reps per side.
